Since January 1, 2010, Peru license plates have used a new system called SIIV (Comprehensive Vehicle Identification System), which began with the new regulation on registration plates. It is interesting to note that car license plates in Peru are known as the National Single Vehicle Registration Plate. With the introduction of the current national single registration plates in Peru, or Peru license plates, a new holographic security sticker was introduced, placed on the vehicle’s front windshield. Peru registration plates vary the background color, the top band color, and the lettering depending on the type of vehicle. With this new system, a watermark security feature was also added. The size adopted for Peru National Single Vehicle Registration Plates is the American standard of 300 x 150 mm.
How does the configuration of current Peru license plates work?
The configuration of Peru license plates, or the Peru National Single Vehicle Registration Plate, for standard private vehicles consists of three letters followed by three numbers, with the first letter identifying the region where the vehicle was registered.
